Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had dismissed the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) office in the Kharkiv region, Zelensky said in a nightly video address.
“I came and figured out the situation. I fired the head of the SBU office in the region. Because he was not working to defend the city from the first days of the full-scale war, but only thinking about himself. Law enforcement officers will find out what his motives were,” Zelensky said.
He noted that a third of the Kharkiv region is still under occupation, but added that Ukraine will definitely liberate the entire territory. And everyone at the local and state level should work for this result, Zelensky said.
Since March 25, 2020, Roman Dudin has headed the SBU office in the Kharkiv region.
Zelensky on Sunday chaired a working meeting on the situation in the Kharkiv region and the city of Kharkiv.
Zelenskyy’s office posted a video on Telegram of him wearing a bullet-proof vest and being shown destroyed buildings in Kharkiv and its surroundings, from where Russian forces have retreated in recent weeks.
