The US Senate has confirmed Ketanji Brown Jackson in the Supreme Court on Thursday evening.
By a 53-47 tally, Jackson becomes the first Black woman and first federal public defender in the Supreme Court’s 232-year history.
Three Republicans – Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Sen. Mitt Romney of Texas – joined all Democrats in supporting Jackson.
