At the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, US Vice President Kamala Harris said Russia committed ‘crimes against humanity’ in Ukraine.

The war between Russia and Ukraine is going to be almost a year. No one knows when this devastating war will end. Meanwhile, US Vice President Kamala Harris said on Saturday that the Biden administration has formally concluded that Russia committed “crimes against humanity” during its nearly year-long invasion of Ukraine and have carried out attacks on civilian populations.

Vice President Kamala Harris said we have examined the evidence in Russia’s attack in Ukraine, we know the legal standards and there is no doubt that this is a crime against humanity.

At the Munich Security Conference, Kamala Harris said, “I say to all those who have committed these crimes, and their senior officers who are involved in these crimes, you will be held accountable.”

Harris made the statement at a time when leaders of the West met in Munich to assess Europe’s worst conflict since World War II. The war between Russia and Ukraine, which has been going on for almost a year, has cost millions of lives and displaced millions of people. Also, Russia has hurt the world economy deeply.

“I say to all those who committed these crimes and their superiors who were involved in these crimes that you must be held accountable … justice must be sought,” Harris said sternly.

World leaders including the leaders of France and Germany and China’s top diplomat Wang Yi are participating in the three-day conference.

Harris also praised Ukraine’s success in countering Russia’s aggression.

“Kiev is still standing, Russia is weakened, the transatlantic alliance is stronger than ever and most importantly, the spirit of the Ukrainian people is high,” she said.

During the speech, he added – “We have come together to stand for our common values and our common interests. And for our common humanity.”

A day earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking in the same high-profile time slot, urged the assembled leaders to “spped up” their support for Kyiv in its fight against Russia.

The war between Russia and Ukraine is about to complete one year. In 2022, on February 24, Russia launched a military invasion of Ukraine in the name of a special military operation. Since then, both countries have suffered heavy losses in this war. However, this war is going to intensify instead of stopping.
