US F/A-18 Pilot Confirmed Dead in San Diego Crash

On Friday, the United States Marine Corps officially announced the passing of a pilot flying an F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet. The unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday night near San Diego, California. The pilot, who was the sole individual on board the aircraft, was tragically pronounced deceased at the crash site.

The Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego reported that the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet went down near the station late Thursday. Fortunately, no damage to property on the ground was reported, sparing the local community from further harm.

The press release issued by the Marine Corps conveyed their condolences to the pilot’s family during this trying period.

“With a heavy heart, our condolences go to the Marine’s family during this time,” the statement said.

As investigations into the crash has begun, the Marines said.
