Ukrainian armed forces said Monday they had recaptured more than 20 settlements occupied by Russia in the past 24 hours amid a large counter-offensive. They said that the 20 settlements were recaptured as part of an aggressive strategy to return the settlements occupied by Russia.
“In the last 24 hours, our security forces have returned 20 settlements captured by our forces, they are now under our full control,” the Ukrainian army official said.
After the Ukrainian army returned to those settlements, the Russian security personnel who were there have been displaced. The Ukrainian army claims that Ukraine is achieving success against Russian security forces in the southern and eastern regions of the country in the last week.
Ukraine says that they have already returned places like Izum, Kupiensk, Balaklia.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zolenskyi, during his daily address, said on Sunday that all of Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, some areas of Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy have been withdrawn.
He informed that most of the places that were returned have now been informed about electricity service.
Ukraine has said that the campaign to return many places occupied by Russia has been intensified and success is also being achieved.
