In a shocking development, two more earthquakes have struck Jajarkot in western Nepal today, causing further devastation in a region already reeling from a major tremor on Friday night.
The first earthquake occurred at 4:34 PM, with its epicenter at Jajarkot. According to the National Earthquake Measurement Center, this aftershock was measured at 5.8 on the Richter scale, with the epicenter at Ramidanda in Jajarkot.
Just nine minutes later, at 4:40 PM, a second aftershock was felt, also with its epicenter in Jajarkot. This aftershock had a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale.
These aftershocks follow a significant 6.4 magnitude earthquake that struck the region on Friday night, with its epicenter at Ramidanda in Jajarkot. The Friday quake resulted in the tragic loss of 157 lives in Jajarkot and West Rukum, with hundreds more injured. There has also been extensive damage to property and infrastructure.
