Tunisia’s Defense Ministry said on Thursday that it had lost contact with a military helicopter with 4-crew members.
In a release, the ministry said the helicopter went missing in the late hours of Wednesday night during a mission near Bizerte, a river in northern Tunisia, without providing any further details.
The Ministry said that a search operation has been launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Home Affairs to determine the location of the helicopter. The ministry said that it is searching its land and sea area.
Earlier in the year 2021, an army helicopter had an accident in the southern province Gabes during an exercise. Three soldiers died in that accident. And the findings of the said investigation started for the cause of the accident have not yet been made public.
