A trial date has been scheduled for Naresh Bhatt, the husband of missing Manassas Park woman Mamta Kafle Bhatt. The trial is set to begin on December 9 at 9 a.m. in Prince William County Circuit Court.

Mamta Kafle Bhatt, who disappeared earlier this year under mysterious circumstances, was a beloved member of the local Nepali-American community. Her sudden disappearance has left many searching for answers, and her husband, Naresh, now faces charges related to the case. Although the investigation remains ongoing, the trial is expected to reveal new information about her disappearance.

Melissa Barton, a former colleague of Mamta, spoke to Sachchi Mainali, a Nepali journalist , alongside other community members. Wirth mentioned that authorities have indicated that more searches for Mamta will be conducted as the case moves forward.

“We’re going to keep showing up and standing up,” Wirth said, emphasizing the community’s commitment to supporting Mamta’s family and being present at future court dates.

Supporters of Mamta plan to gather at an annual Nepali community event in Manassas on October 5, in a show of solidarity and to keep her case in the public eye. A pretrial hearing has also been scheduled for November 20, ahead of the full trial in December.

With the trial date approaching, Mamta’s loved ones and the community continue to push for justice, determined to uncover the truth behind her disappearance and bring accountability to those responsible.
