In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old boy was killed and five others were injured in a shooting that took place in the West End of Cincinnati on Friday night, as confirmed by the Cincinnati police.

The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Jones Street and Wade Street. Upon arrival, the officers found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The deceased victim, an 11-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Chief Terri Theetge revealed that several juveniles were among those shot, but their ages and identities remain undisclosed. Three victims were rushed to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, with one of them sustaining life-threatening injuries. As of Saturday morning, two victims remain in the hospital, while one has been discharged.

Two other victims were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Theetge expressed her dismay at the incident, stating, “Absolutely unacceptable in our city, that on a Friday night six people were shot in one incident”.

As of now, there is no suspect information available, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. However, Theetge assured that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval expressed his condolences on social media, stating, “There was a horrific tragedy in the West End. Children were shot. At least one life was lost. Our friends and neighbors are feeling unimaginable fear, trauma, and anger”.
