Out of more than 100,000,000 words in English dictionary, I chose this particular word ‘society’ as the topic of this blog. Out of so many other words, this is a major one which has lost its meaning in this so called modern world, world being another one in the list. Its time that we stop calling ourselves human; we are going insanely inhuman, anti-social, insecure creatures who are mishandling their highly capable intelligence and getting tangled in the trap we ourselves have woven in the name of development.
Where are we heading and what are we doing? What goals are we trying to achieve as a society? We have simply forgotten the reason we created society, the reason we created morality and ethics, the reason democracy was conceptualized, the real meaning of freedom. Society was made for cultural well-being, social security as a support to survival, but now people are more insecure than ever. Taboos and false beliefs have been eating social prosperity in such a way that I as a person am ashamed to be called as a part of this society because I can well see what’s going on in the society but cannot do anything because I well know that the number of readers of this blog is going to be less than the seconds spent by a newly born child, and the main reason behind this is that we have become inefficient than ever. We see everything and we know everything, solution is at the tip of our fingers but we don’t want to do anything.
Recently, I got to see a video from a medical college executive, describing the situation of female medical aspirants studying in a foreign nation in such an immoral way that all I was not able to do was see in the mirror to say that I am a part of this society. Making baseless arguments on women of the country with such a confidence, if he thinks he is true, being in a capable position, why is he not doing anything about it? Because he knows his arguments are baseless, but he doesn’t know that he is sick, a freaking sick social leader who is going to lead us to nowhere but create intolerance in the society, spread false rumors. I feel ashamed to be a part of this society where leader are so narrow-minded that their brain is not on head but below the belt. Is this a punishment to the parents who think their daughters should be well educated? Is this how we respect women of the nation who are building up their career with a dream of spreading service with this noble profession? Is this how we treat women who are making use of opportunities more than ever to create a society of well educated people.
Educating women is a sign of social development, because somebody great had said that if we educate a man we educate the man, but if we educate a woman, we educated the society. What education are we giving? Has earning fame and money become such a big deal that we have forgotten to be social? Is this why we sought democracy as a nation? Is this what freedom of speech means? If this is freedom of speech where such people can spell bullshit out of their dirty tongue and a person’s protest against such social-mental sickness cannot reach the public, cut my tongue off because having one is of no use; I am not going to forget the respect I need to show towards women be that of any society because I cannot forget how my mother sacrificed her small happy moments for my smile, how my grandmother gave that moral education no school and college ever gave me and how every mother of this society is supposed to be treated, how every woman of this society is supposed to be treated.
A very gentle father of a daughter I know, once said to me that if his daughter ever studies medical to be a doctor, he would wish her to provide free medical treatment at least one day a week to his village because his family lost somebody of illness as the hospital was far. Lots of people everyday die of diseases because they are poor and lack facilities nearby, lots are saved because the have the money to fly to America to get treated; the problem is not acquirance of money. The problem is that human life has become a source of trade for those who pay live, and those who don’t are destined to die.
Society was not formulated for rich people. Society was formulated so that we could fight with problems that come to human beings, regardless of their race, gender, economy; the first and foremost priority being the life of people but now it seems like life has got no value. We might bring technological revolution, but at this time when everyone is believed to have an immense growth in the intellectual capacity as a human, I am shattered to hear such things on public platform that proves the value of moral education that the society needs before getting the permission to execute a medical college and speak non-sense about women, but unfortunately my school stopped moral education class after grade 5.
I don’t know how many of us are going to read and respond to this article and you are not charged a cent, but I hope people act against this action because the meaning of society is supposed to revive. If today our late king would have seen the situation of the nation, he would have tearful remorse on having one of the worst minded society in the world.
