Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said the US forces are responsible in the area for the security and condemned the bombing of civilians at Kabul airport. Mujahid said the Taliban is paying close attention to the security and protection of its people and will protect them from evil circles.
“The Islamic Emirate strongly condemns the bombing of civilians at Kabul airport, which took place in an area where US forces are responsible for security, ” Mujahid’s translate version of the tweet read.
“The Islamic Emirate is paying close attention to the security and protection of its people, and evil circles will be strictly stopped, ” he added.
The second explosion was reported outside Kabul airport at or near the Baron Hotel, Pentagon confirmed. The first and second explosions killed above 20 people and wounded another 50, Asvaka news, a local media reported via Twitter, but official data is yet to come.
