The Washington Post reported on an hour-long audio of the telephone call Trump made on Saturday to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. The Washington Post published the audio conversation in full online Sunday.
‘So look.. All I want to do is this – I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state,’ Trump said during the leaked call.
During the call, President Trump appeared urged Raffensperger to manipulate the election so that he would be declared the victor.
Raffensperger and his office’s general counsel, Ryan Germany, pushed back on the president’s claims and said President-elect Joe Biden’s victory of more than 12,700 votes was accurate.
“The people of Georgia are angry, the people in the country are angry,” Trump said in the call. “And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.”
Raffensperger noted: “President Trump, we’ve had several lawsuits, and we’ve had to respond in court to the lawsuits and the contentions. We don’t agree that you have won.”
“Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is, the data you have is wrong,” Raffensperger responded.
