(GNB- Washington): According to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, 61% of voters approve of President Joe Biden, the Hill released the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey on Monday.
About 39 percent of respondents said they disapprove of the job Biden is doing in the White House according to the poll.
President Biden’s early approval rating is notably higher than former president Donald Trump’s. In February 2017, a similar poll taken showed an approval rating of 48% for former President Donald Trump.
The approval rate for the Democratic Party as a whole has increased with increase of Biden’s approval rating. The Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll found that 55% of respondents approve of his party, it was 48% in January.
Approval of the Republican Party falls short of a majority, with 44% voicing their support.
Forty percent of voters said that the economy is on the right track, an increase from 29% in January.
There has also been a positive shift in how Americans view the country as a whole. 47% of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, it was 63% in January who said the same.
