After violent clashes erupted in Lahore, Pakistan, the High Court has ordered the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan to be halted until 10 am local time tomorrow, Thursday.

After almost 24 hours of clashes with the protesters, the Pakistani police have returned from the residence of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in Lahore. Later, the Lahore High Court ordered a halt to the operation to arrest Khan till 10 am on Thursday.

After a day-long clash between supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and security forces outside the residence of Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan, the Lahore High Court has ordered a stay of police operations at Zaman Park till 10 am tomorrow. It is said that the court ordered the police to return immediately without arresting Imran.

Earlier, an armed police vehicle arrived outside Imran Khan’s house in Lahore. A senior police officer in Islamabad said that the police wanted to arrest him. After a gathering of PTI workers outside Imran Khan’s house, there was a violent clash with the police.

In fact, the arrest of Imran Khan has become a headache for the government. This is the reason why the Pakistani police reached Imran Khan’s residence to arrest him. On Tuesday evening, when the Pakistani police tried to arrest Imran Khan, there was a clash between Imran’s supporters and the police. However, the police could not arrest Imran Khan. Clashes between Imran’s supporters and the police started again from 6 am on Wednesday, according to the media. The police fired tear gas at Imran’s supporters. Imran’s supporters pelted stones at the police.

According to media reports, Imran Khan’s house in Lahore has been surrounded by a large number of police. An arrest warrant has been issued against Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case and despite several attempts, the Islamabad police have not been able to arrest Khan. It is reported that many people from both sides were injured in the ongoing clash between the police and Imran’s supporters.

Khan has been a public critic of the government and has been accused of selling the gifts he received while he was the prime minister and failing to disclose his income. The court called him to inform about this. A senior police officer told AFP that they had come to arrest him for failing to comply with a court order.

Attempts were made to arrest 70-year-old Khan, who is also a popular cricketer. Shots were also fired at him with the intention of killing him. Khan has claimed that there was an attempt to kill him on the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
