Local authorities have informed that 15 people died and five were injured in a fire that broke out on Saturday night in a night club in the western city of Kostro, Russia.
Regional governor Sergei Sitnikov had earlier said 13 people had died, but emergency services later announced the bodies of two others had been found.
“Two more bodies have been recovered. This means the number of victims has now reached 15,” Tass news agency quoted a law enforcement source as saying.
The police have informed the media that one person has been arrested on suspicion of arson.
He has now been handed over to investigating authorities, police said in a statement without providing further details.
Russian agencies suspect the fire may have started after a drunken man fired a “flare gun” on the dance floor.
About 250 people were evacuated from buildings when the fire broke out overnight in the city, about 300 kilometers northeast of Moscow.
While the investigation into the incident is ongoing, detailed information is yet to be released.
