Haridwar, India (GNB)- Nepal’s former King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah has reached Haridwar for worship during Kumbh Mela (fair). The Kumbh Mela at Haridwar is a mela (fair) held every 12 years at Haridwar, India.
“I thank to Acharya for the invitation, and I can worship. I have brought blessings for the Nepali people, ” the former king Shah said.”
Shah was invited by Niranjan Peethadhishwar Swami Shri Kailashanandji Maharaj for the worship, he said in an interview with the local media.
Earlier, former king Shah also worshiped Dakshinkali pooja, report says.
Shah has received a grand welcome on Sunday at the Eternal Shree Siddha Peeth Shree Dakshinkali Temple. The temple is located on the banks of Ganga in Haridwar.
Many supporters from Nepal and India accompanied the former king to the Haridwar, report says.
Haridwar is all set for the second royal bath of Maha Kumbh, which will be held on Monday under the Covid-19 protocols amid the alarming situation of coronavirus cases in Uttarakhand, According to the organizer.
The first bath was held on March 11 on the occasion of Mahashivratri, while the second will be held on April 12 and on April 14, the third royal bath will be taken by the 13 Akhadas,” the Inspector-general of Police, Haridwar Kumbh Mela, Sanjay Gunjyal said on Sunday.
The Kumbh Mela at Haridwar is a mela (fair) held every 12 years at Haridwar, India. The exact date is determined according to Hindu astrology. Haridwar is one of the four sites of Kumbh Mela, the others being Prayag (Allahabad), Trimbak (Nashik), and Ujjain.
