    Mumbai Drug Case: Aryan Khan’s bail application rejected

    The bail plea application of Aryan Khan, Arbaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha has been rejected by the Killa Court in Mumbai on Friday in connection with a cruise drugs bust case.

    They were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after they raid a cruise ship and seized drugs last week.

    Aryan Khan is the son of Bollywood popular actor Shah Rukh Khan.

    Citing that the plea was ‘not maintainable, the court directed the accused persons to move the sessions court for regular bail, Indian media outlet ANI reported.

    PTI reports that the court also rejected pleas from two other accused – Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamechat. All three must now approach the Sessions Court for relief.

    Aryan Khan along with the other accused persons have been quarantined at Arthur Road Jail, and they will be lodged in a quarantine cell made inside the prison for a few days, the Indian media outlet reported citing sources.

    According to media outlets, another bail application will be filed on Monday as the regular court will not be working on a second Saturday. Sources have said outlets that Aryan Khan’s legal team will also try to apply before the vacation bench for an urgent hearing, according to the media outlets.

    The Bollywood actor’s son Aryan Khan, 23-Year-Old, was arrested along with Merchant, Dhamecha, and others after an NCB raid on a cruise ship on October 2 from where the agency recovered drugs. They were detained after the raid last Saturday and then arrested the next day.

    According to Hindustan Times, all of them have been booked under section 8C, 20B, 27 read with 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, after officers seized 13 gm of cocaine, 21 gm of charas (hasish), 22 pills of MDMA (ecstasy), 5 gm MD and cash worth ₹1.33 lakh from the cruise ship.
