Lionel Messi scored his first goal for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the Champions League group stage on Tuesday, beating Manchester City 2-0 on Matchday 2.

Leo Messi opened his tally with a perfect strike into the back of the net (2-0, 74′). A goal that sent the stadium into a frenzy!

PSG started their dream attack of Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe, but it was unheralded midfielder Idrissa Gueye who opened the scoring in the eighth minute.

Idrissa Gueye’s first-half goal was ultimately the winner, but Messi opening his account was the obvious storyline from Tuesday’s win.

Leo Messi officially signed a contract in August for French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after his 21 years long association with FC Barcelona.

Leo Messi spoke to PSGTV after Les Parisiens’ victory over Manchester City on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League group stage (2-0).

“I’m very happy to have scored,” Messi said after the match.

“I’ve not been playing much recently and I’m adapting to my teammates little by little.

“The more we play together the better it will become. We need to grow together and increase our level.”

The victory moves PSG into first place in Group A with a 1-1-0 record, while Manchester City are in third at 1-0-1.
