    Malaysia: Former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin arrested on corruption charges

    Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mohiuddin Yasin has been accused of corruption. After which he has also been arrested. He is accused of transferring money to his party Bersatu’s accounts in lieu of projects through building contractors during the Corona period. He has also been questioned in this regard.     According to reports, former Malaysia PM Mohiuddin voluntarily went to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for questioning on Thursday morning. The head of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) gave information in this matter. He told that the former PM is alleged to have deposited money in the accounts of his Bersatu party in lieu of contracts from contractors during the pandemic. Azam Baqi also informed that the former prime minister will appear in the court on Friday.

    On the other hand, former PM Mohiuddin, before going to the MACC office on Thursday, denied these allegations and said that this is the target of a political vendetta. Please inform that many other Bersatu politicians have also been questioned in this matter. Along with this, two have also been accused.

    Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mohiuddin is a seasoned politician. He has been a cabinet minister several times in his political career. Raised in Muar, Johor Province, Malaysia, Mohiuddin studied economics and Malay studies at the University of Malaya.

    Mohiuddin started his political journey with the United Malays National Organization (UMNO). In just 15 years, he became the Chief Minister of Johor Province from the MLA. He formed his own party Parati Pariboomi Bersatu Malaysia (Berasatu) along with Mahathir Mohamad. Mohiuddin is the president of the party while Mahathir is the chairman.
