WASHINGTON (GNB): Famous cherry blossom trees in Washington D.C. hit peak bloom !
On Sunday morning, the National Park Service (NPS) announced that the trees around the Tidal Basin reached their final blooming stage.
NPS said in a tweet that “The cherry trees have reached peak bloom after temps well above average last week sped us through the final stages of the blossom cycle – just four days from stage 4 to peak”.
Officials urged cherry blossom lovers to see the flowering trees on the NWS Bloom Cam Livestream.

The National Park Service previously predicted March 31 for peak bloom to begin.
If crowds begin to form and visitors can’t keep a safe distance from each other, NPS has pledged to shut down pedestrian access to the Tidal Basin.
Washington D.C.’s cherry blossoms signal the arrival of spring and symbolize hope, renewal, and friendship.
With fewer visitors expected to see the blooming cherry trees in person this year, the Trust for the National Mall along with its partners, the National Park Service, The National Cherry Blossom Festival, and EarthCam, are bringing the beloved and blooming Cherry Trees to YOU during their peak bloom!
