In a heartfelt social media post, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has announced the end of her nearly decade-long relationship with Andrea Giambruno. The couple, who have been together for almost ten years, share a seven-year-old daughter, Ginevra.
Meloni expressed her gratitude for the “splendid years” they spent together and acknowledged the challenges they faced. She emphasized that their daughter Ginevra is the most important thing in her life.
“Our paths have diverged for some time, and the time has come to acknowledge it,” Meloni wrote. Despite the split, she pledged to defend their past relationship, their ongoing friendship, and above all, their daughter’s well-being.
In a poignant reflection on her own childhood, Meloni vowed to protect her daughter’s relationship with both parents. “I will defend, at all costs, a seven-year-old girl who loves her mother and loves her father, as I was unable to love mine,” she stated.
The Prime Minister concluded her post with a strong message to those who might seek to exploit her personal situation for political gain. “All those who hoped to weaken me by hitting me at home should know that however much the drop may hope to dig out the stone, the stone remains stone and the drop is only water,” she wrote.
