India handed over the first installment of 20 kidney dialysis machines (KDM) to Nepal last Monday. This support has been provided with the aim of expanding medical facilities for the people of Nepal.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava handed over the batch of KDM to Nepal’s Health and Population Minister Padam Giri. These 20 KDMs are the first of 200 such machines with all associated medical equipment gifted by India to Nepal. It is said that the rest of the goods will be sent soon.
In his speech to the media, Ambassador Srivastava mentioned the long-standing development cooperation between India and Nepal, especially in the field of health.
Nepal’s Health Minister Giri thanked the Government of India on behalf of the Government of Nepal for its continuous support in the expansion of medical facilities for the people of Nepal in the health sector, including kidney dialysis machines.
