    High Protein Snacking Nuts Recipe

    Must Read

Over the years, I have tried many store-bought savory nut snacks. Oftentimes, they either have gone rancid on the shelf, or they are too salty, or they are too pricey. Here is a great recipe you want to try making at home. This recipe has been a household favorite for my family and has saved me a lot of money in exchange for the wonderful taste and guaranteed freshness until they run out. These nuts can be an awesome Christmas gift for your friends and family!

    Preparation time: 30 minutes

    Main Ingredients:

    • 1 lb. Raw Pecans
    • 1 lb. Raw Walnuts
    • 1 lb. Raw Almonds

You can exchange any of these nuts as per your preference.

    Seasonings:

    • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
    • 1 tbsp Salt (I used Himalayan Pink Salt)
    • 1 tbsp Chili Powder (if you prefer for it to be spicy, you can use cayenne pepper or paprika. In the recipe demonstrated, I used one teaspoon of Pequin pepper powder harvested from my own garden.)
    • 1 tbsp Olive Oil (you can use any oil of your choice such as peanut oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, clarified butter, etc.)

    Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
    2. Transfer each type of nut onto separate baking trays
    3. Put the trays inside the oven; almond tray on the top rack, pecan on the middle, and walnuts on the bottom rack.
    4. Roast the nuts for 10-12 minutes.
    5. Take the trays out of the oven. You will smell a great aroma when the nuts are ready.
    6. Let the trays sit on the counter for 10-15 minutes until they are easy enough to handle.
    7. Transfer all the nuts into a big mixing bowl.
    8. Add all seasonings and mix thoroughly until every piece is coated with these seasonings.

Some Helpful TIPS: Let the nuts completely cool down before storing them away; otherwise, moisture builds up and ruins them. We always store them in the refrigerator in multiple airtight containers. The nuts go rancid when stored at room temperature for a long time. If you want to give your nuts Indian flavor, add a teaspoon or so of chat masala; you may need to adjust the amount of salt a little bit because the chat masala also has salt. Watch more recipe
