    Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan shot during protest march

    Ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been shot. Khan was shot in the Wazirabad district of East Punjab province on Thursday afternoon. According to local media, Mr Khan is out of danger.

    According to the international media AP, FP, he was injured by a bullet. This incident happened while the Haqeeqi Azadi March was entering Wazirabad. After the shooting, there was a stampede during the march. Everyone including the PTI leader in the container was panicked.

    Members of his PTI party said another four people were hurt on Thursday – but no-one was killed.

    According to ARY News, the demonstration had reached near Zafarali Khan Chowk when the firing took place. Quoting sources, the media reported that five people were injured in the shooting incident, including five others, who were injured in firing near the Long March container of former Prime Minister Khan.

    The police said that the injured were taken to the hospital in an ambulance. ARY News, quoting a source, said that one accused involved in the attack has been detained. It is said that everyone including the injured former prime minister is out of danger.
