A federal dismissed Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert’s lawsuit against Vice Prescient Mike Pence Friday.

Federal judge in Tyler, Texas, stated “the Court lacks subject matter jurisdiction over this case and must dismiss the action.”

The lawsuit was filed by Rep. Louie Gohmert along with several other Republican plaintiffs against Vice President Mike Pence in what could be an effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

The lawsuit by Gohmert was aiming to change the way contested electoral votes are counted and, in turn, potentially turn the election towards President Trump.

The vice president presides over the election certification on January 6, in what is mostly a ceremonial role.
