Residents and officials confirmed an explosion in the Darul Aman area of the Afghan capital city of Kabul this morning, according to local news media.
A suicide bomber planned to detonate himself among the people gathered in front of the Russian embassy, but the explosion occurred when the security personnel identified him and targeted him, Khalid Zadran, the spokesman of the Kabul Security Department, said in a statement.
Zadran said that four civilians and two workers of the Russian embassy were killed in the explosion and several other Afghans were injured.
