European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that a donor conference organized by Global Citizen, the United Nations and the Canadian government had raised €9.1 billion ($9.9 billion) for displaced Ukrainians, both internally and as refugees abroad.

“Today we raised 9.1 billion euros for the people fleeing the invasion, inside Ukraine and abroad. And more will come! ” von der Leyen wrote on Twitter.

She thanks everyone who took part in this global solidarity effort.

After “Stand Up for Ukraine” Pledging Event, Von der Leyen wrote on Twitter: “President @ZelenskyyUa, we heard you. You called on the world to join forces in support of those fleeing the invasion, inside and outside Ukraine. We respond today with #StandUpForUkraine to mobilise funding and support for Ukraine.”
