Delta Flight Evacuated After Engine Fire at Orlando International Airport

On April 21, 2025, Delta Air Lines Flight 1213, an Airbus A330 scheduled to depart from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, was evacuated after an engine caught fire during pushback from the gate.

As per the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) statement,

“Delta Air Lines Flight 1213 was pushing back from the gate for departure at Orlando International Airport around 11:15 a.m. local time on Monday, April 21, when an engine caught fire. Passengers evacuated the aircraft using slides. The Airbus A330 was headed to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The FAA will investigate. Contact the airline for more information.”

All 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and 2 pilots were safely evacuated with no injuries reported.

Delta airline confirmed the incident and noted that its maintenance teams are working to determine the cause of the fire, reported by media outlets . Delta also said it is rebooking passengers and providing food and support while they await alternative travel arrangements.

Operations at Orlando International Airport resumed shortly after the incident with minimal disruption.
