A Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday but skidded off the runway, flipping onto its back in snowy conditions, according to photos and reports circulating on social media.
Delta Flight 4819, a Bombardier CRJ900 operated by Endeavor Air, landed at Toronto Pearson at around 11:47 a.m. before the incident occurred. Emergency teams responded immediately, and all passengers and crew were accounted for, the airport confirmed.
“Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for,” the airport posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Local reports indicate that at least eight people sustained injuries. The extent of their injuries remains unclear.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the accident, but snowy weather conditions may have contributed. Investigations are ongoing, and aviation safety officials are assessing the situation.
