Chelsea has completed the signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica after agreeing on a British record $132 million (£106m) deal to sign the Argentina World Cup winner.
Enzo Fernandez is the most expensive soccer player ever to be bought by a Premier League club after joining Chelsea from Benfica for a record transfer fee of $132 million ( £106.8m).
A statement from Benfica confirmed that a deal had been reached between the clubs over how Chelsea would pay the release fee for the 22-year-old, who has signed an eight-and-a-half year contract. Fernandez has signed a contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2031.
Chelsea will pay Fernandez’s transfer fee to Benfica in six installments.
Fernandez played in all seven of Argentina’s games at Qatar 2022, including the final.
