U.S. pop queen Britney Spears has announced her engagement to her long-time boyfriend, Sam Asghari.
The singer posted a video of the couple showing off the ring on Instagram.
Sam Asghari, an actor and fitness trainer, posted a separate photo of the ring and the couple kissing that the pop star also posted on several social media on Sunday. The couple, Britney Spears, 39, and Sam Asghari, 27 announced their engagement on Sunday, on Instagram.
In a short video uploaded on Britney’s verified account on Instagram, Britney shows off her new ring. Sam Asghari is by her side and when he asks her if she likes her engagement ring, she joyfully says “Yes.”
Sam Asghari also shared a photo of the couple on Instagram in which both of them appear to be kissing as Britney shows off her ring. He didn’t write any words but put quite a few King and Queen emojis.
Britney Spears and Sam Asghari met in 2016 when he was a part of her single video “Slumber Party.”
Asghari has been by her side and their relationship is almost five years old. He has stood by her as she described an abusive conservatorship by her father Jamie Spears. The couple has also mentioned earlier that they would like to have a baby together.
The 39-year-old is fighting a legal battle to end her 13-year conservatorship, which controls both her personal life and finances.
Last week, her father, Jamie Spears, filed papers in a Los Angeles court to end the conservatorship. A court hearing is scheduled for 29 September.
