Britney Spears‘ new attorney Mathew Rosengart, who was appointed less than two weeks ago has filed a petition on Monday (July 26) in a Los Angeles court to remove her father Jamie Spears as conservator.

Additionally, Rosengart petitioned to replace Jamie Spears with CPA Jason Rubin of Woodland Hills, California, according to multiple reports.

If approved, forensic CPA Jason Rubin will replace Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, who has controlled her money and much of her life since 2008.

According to the TMZ report, the document also challenges Jamie’s management of the conservatorship, claiming he’s made a king’s ransom over the last 13 years.  He gets $16,000 a month plus $2k a month for office expenses. He also got 1.5% of the gross revenues from her Vegas residency … which brought in $137.7 million. The docs say Jamie’s cut alone was at least $2.1 mil. The docs go on to say Jamie got $2.95% from Britney’s 2011 Femme Fatale tour … an estimated $500k.

In the filing, Rosengart also says “serious questions abound concerning Mr. Spears’s potential misconduct, including conflicts of interest, conservatorship abuse and the evident dissipation of Ms. Spears’s fortune.”

As the New York Times reports, Rosengart’s filing cites a section of the probate code which gives the court the power to remove a conservator if it “is in the best interests” of the conservatee.

The petition to remove the singer’s father from her conservatorship was supported by her mother, Lynne Spears. Lynne has filed a damning declaration in support of removing the singer’s father from the conservatorship.

Her daughter’s relationship with her father had “dwindled to nothing but fear and hatred” after he “exercised absolutely microscopic control” over her life, Lynne said in a court filing Monday.

Spears’ mother said in the petition that the conservatorship had allowed her ex-husband to take “complete control over” their daughter’s life.

Judge Brenda Penny moved up the next hearing on the matter, which will now be held on Sept. 29 at Los Angeles Superior Court, according to Verity news.
