President Trump Denies Tariff Rollback, Targets Electronics Supply Chain in Upcoming Investigations

President Donald Trump posted a strongly worded statement on Truth Social Sunday afternoon, reaffirming his administration’s uncompromising trade stance toward China and flatly denying recent rumors of a tariff exemption on tech imports.

In the 3:36 PM ET post, Trump dismissed reports suggesting that certain technology-related imports were spared from tariffs, writing:

“There was no Tariff ‘exception’ announced on Friday. These products are subject to the existing 20% Fentanyl Tariffs, and they are just moving to a different Tariff ‘bucket.’ The Fake News knows this, but refuses to report it.”

Trump accused other countries—especially China—of engaging in long-term trade manipulation.

“NOBODY is getting ‘off the hook’ for the unfair Trade Balances, and Non Monetary Tariff Barriers… especially not China which, by far, treats us the worst!” he declared.

New Tariff Investigations Targeting Electronics Supply Chain

In the same post, Trump revealed that new National Security Tariff Investigations will soon focus on semiconductors and the entire electronics supply chain, signaling a deepening of protectionist trade policy.

“We need to make products in the United States… and we will not be held hostage by other Countries, especially hostile trading Nations like China,” the president added.

“Golden Age of America” and Legislative Backing

Trump further claimed that the nation is entering a “Golden Age of America,” bolstered by a wave of tax and regulation cuts recently approved by both chambers of Congress.

“Our Country will be bigger, better, and stronger than ever before. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

No Official White House Statement Yet

As of publication time, the White House has not released an official response. However, the president’s remarks point to an escalation in trade enforcement policy, particularly aimed at curbing reliance on Chinese manufacturing.
