    Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday. Earlier, the doctor had expressed concern about her health. She was 96 years old and was the oldest woman to hold power in Britain.

    “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow,” the royal family announced on Thursday.

    In a statement, His Majesty the King, who also becomes head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms, said: “The death of my beloved mother Her Majesty the Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.

    “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”

    He said during the period of mourning and change he and his family would be “comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held”.

    Battling health problems since October last year
    Queen Elizabeth was unable to move anywhere. That’s why they were having their meetings at Balmoral Castle in Scotland instead of Buckingham Palace in London. Queen Elizabeth was suffering from health problems since October last year.
