Washington D.C (GNB): Thousands of President Donald Trump’s supporters gathered on the nation’s capital Wednesday as Congress is preparing to declare formally Joe Biden president-elect.

Trump supporters have breached the Capitol building, tearing down 4 layers of security fencing and are attempting to occupy the building — fighting federal police who are overrun.

The U.S. Capitol building has been locked down with politicians told to remain inside and stay away from windows and doors as Trump supporters clash with police outside.

The mayor of Washington, D.C., has ordered a curfew in the nation’s capital beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday after protestors seeking to overturn the election results stormed the U.S. Capitol building.

“Today, I’m ordering a citywide curfew for the District of Columbia from 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, until 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7”.
