    Black box located of crashed Sriwijaya Air, plane wreckage found in Java Sea

    (GNB Desk): Indonesian authorities on Sunday found the location of the cockpit voice and flight data recorders from a crashed Indonesian Sriwijaya Air Flight SJY182.

    There was no sign of survivors.

    Aljazeera reports quoting Indonesian officials -“The two signals emitted by the black box are continuously monitored and now we have them marked,” said Hadi Tjahjanto, Indonesian Armed Forces chief. “Hopefully in not too long we can lift up the black boxes for the National Transportation Safety Committee to investigate and find out the cause of the crash.”

    Parts of plane wreckage found in Java Sea, a day after the Sriwijaya Air Flight SJY182 crashed into the Java Sea with 62 people on board shortly after taking off from Indonesia’s capital.

    Rescuers have pulled out body parts, pieces of clothing, and scraps of metal from the Java Sea, reported The Associated Press quoting officials.

    “As of this morning, we’ve received two (body) bags, one with passenger belongings and the other with body parts,” Jakarta police spokesman Yusri Yunus told Metro TV.

    Indonesia’s Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi had confirmed the crash of a Boeing 737-500 plane of the Indonesian airlines, which lost contact with the air traffic controller yesterday. There were 62 people onboard- 56 passengers and 6 crew members. Indonesia’s transport safety committee had stated that all those on the Sriwijaya Air flight were Indonesian.
