A massive fire broke out in the famous Bangabazar of Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on Tuesday morning. It hit 6 markets in which there are 2900 shops. To extinguish this fire, 48 units of Fire Service and Civil Defense were engaged.
Eight people were injured in the fire. The fire department was informed about the fire at 6.10 am. After this, the vehicles of the fire department had reached the spot within 2 minutes. Army, Navy and Airforce were also employed to extinguish the fire.
According to the report of Dhaka Times, seeing the fire increasing continuously, traders jumped into the fire to save their goods. People were taking out the goods from the shop without caring for the smoke and life.
However, despite this, most of the shops were gutted and only ashes remained. According to reports, most of the shops in this area are of clothes, due to which the fire spread rapidly and became uncontrollable.
A crowd of people gathered in Bangabazar to see the horrific fire. People started taking selfies near the fire and taking pictures of them. Because of this, the fire fighters had to face difficulties in controlling it. At the same time, there was a delay in controlling the fire due to lack of water.
The cause of the fire is still not known. At the same time, some people lost everything in this fire. Local TV channels showed many shopkeepers mourning the losses as the fire turned them into a pauper overnight ahead of peak business season during the Eid-ul Fitr festival.
