Ansu Fati, an 18-year-old, Barci striker has a new shirt number 10.
After wearing the number 22 then 17, the young Barçilona striker will wear the iconic number 10 shirt – a famous jersey previously worn by legends such as Leo Messi, Ronaldinho, and Rivaldo, FC Barcelona announced in a statement Wednesday.
Despite being just 18 years of age and still recovering from injury, Ansu Fati forms part of Barça’s history as a record-breaker and also with the Spanish national side.
Fati joined Barcelona’s first team in 2019. He became the club’s youngest La Liga scorer in history (16) when he scored against Osasuna in his first season.
He also became the youngest scorer in the history of Spain’s national team with a goal he scored at 17 in 2020 against Ukraine.

Anssumane Fati (31 October 2002) was born in Bissau, the capital of Guinea Bissau. The striker moved to Seville at the age of six where he began in the youth team set up at Sevilla. In 2012, at the age of 10, he joined the FC Barcelona youth teams before making his debut with the first team in the 2019/20 season.
On 25 August 2019 he became the youngest ever person to play for the Barça first team in the league at the age of 16 years and 298 days. The striker, wearing number 31, came on in the 78th minutes of the game against Betis to replace Carles Pérez in week 2 of the 2019/20 league season.
On 31 August 2019, in a game against Osasuna in El Sadar, Ansu Fati became the youngest player ever to score in the league for Barça. The striker, aged just 16 years and 304 days, scored with a well placed header from Carles Pérez in the 2-2 draw in Pamplona.
The records kept coming. On 14 September 2019 against Valencia at home, Fati became the youngest ever player to start a game at Camp Nou. Seven minutes into the game he had become the youngest players ever to score and provide an assist in the same league game whilst at the same time becoming the young player ever to score at Camp Nou.
The records have continued as on 17 September 2019, at 16 years and 321 days, Ansu Fati became the youngest player in Barça history to play in the Champions League when he started the game against Borussia Dortmund in the Signal Iduna Park.
On 3 September 2020 Ansu Fati came on in the second half a Spain’s game against Germany to become the second youngest player ever to make his debut for the national team. A goal in a game against the Ukraine made him the youngest ever goalscorer for the Spanish national side.
