All eight individuals who were trapped in a cable car high above a valley in Pakistan have been successfully rescued, according to an announcement by Pakistan’s Prime Minister. The group included six children, along with their two teacher, who found themselves stranded due to an unforeseen issue with the cable car’s operation.

The incident unfolded around 9 am as the students and their teacher were embarking on what should have been a routine journey to school, according to the local media. The cable car, intended to transport them to their destination, encountered a technical problem, leaving them suspended in the mountainous terrain. The news of their rescue was met with a collective sigh of relief and celebration.

Prime Minister Anwar Kakar expressed his relief and gratitude, stating, “Relieved to know that Alhamdolillah all the kids have been successfully and safely rescued. Great teamwork by the military, rescue departments, district administration as well as the local people.” The successful outcome was credited to the collaborative efforts of various parties, including the military, rescue departments, district administration, and local residents.

The response to the crisis was characterized by swift and resolute action. The Special Services Group (SSG) commandos of the Pakistan Army orchestrated a meticulously planned aerial rescue operation. The challenging terrain and high altitude necessitated the use of helicopters, which were skillfully deployed to reach the stranded individuals. Despite the precarious conditions, the SSG commandos demonstrated remarkable skill and determination as they executed the evacuation.

This incident comes against the backdrop of a recent tragedy in the same region. In an unfortunate incident, a cable car had plunged into the fast-flowing waters of the Indus River in the Samar Nala area of Upper Kohistan district. This incident had claimed the lives of four individuals, serving as a somber reminder of the inherent risks associated with navigating challenging landscapes.
