Hundreds of relatives and residents were seen taking place in Afghanistan’s Kunduz on Saturday (October 9) a day after a suicide attack in a mosque that killed at least 46 people attending Friday afternoon prayers.
On Friday, a suicide attack killed at least 46 people and wounded more than 143 during prayers at the Gozar-e-Sayed Abad mosque in Afghanistan.
The latest attack was the third this week on a religious institution.
Men dug large trenches to bury the dead in a mass grave. A pile of sandals and bloodstained carpets remained at the mosque on Saturday.
Hundred of family members gathered around wooden coffins waiting for burial, local news media reported.
Islamic State claimed responsibility for an attack that state-run Bakhtar news agency said had killed 46 people and wounded 143.
The UN, European Union, United States and several other world countries and organizations strongly reacted to the attack and called it in contrast with human rights values.
The United Nations Secretary-General strongly condemned the “horrific” attack.
“Attacks that deliberately target civilians exercising the right to freely practice their religion are violations of fundamental human rights and international humanitarian law.
