The winning numbers for the Monday nightdrawing were 12, 21, 42, 44, 49 with Powerball number 1. The Power Play option was 3x.
According to Powerball officials, the lucky ticket holder will have the choice between an annuitized prize of $842.4 million or a lump sum payment of $425.2 million. Both prize options are before taxes.
“If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5 percent each year,” Powerball officials explained.
The identity of the winner is yet to be revealed. As the news spreads, residents of Michigan and lottery players nationwide are left in anticipation, proving once again that fortune can strike when least expected.
