    A massive fire has broken out in a multi-storey building in central Sydney. Several fire engines have reached the spot to control the fire. Now the fire department is trying to control the fire.

    Emergency services have cordoned off the area of the fire. Video from the scene shows firefighters trying to put out the blaze at a building near Sydney’s Central railway station.

    The footage shows flames spreading around the building and a car parked nearby is also seen burning.

    More than 100 firefighters, 20 fire trucks and multiple stations are working to extinguish the fire in two buildings, officials said. At this time, both the affected buildings are vacant and the firefighting operations are expected to continue throughout the night, officials said.

    MP Tanya Plibersek said in a statement on Twitter: “Horrible fire in my constituency Surry Hills. Please stay safe and listen to the instructions of the emergency services.”

    A New South Wales Transport update says train services near the fire have been suspended until further notice. A spokesperson for New South Wales Police said there were no reports of injuries at this time.

    In the footage, Surry Hills, a seven-story building was engulfed in flames when a wall collapsed. New video footage released shows the walls of a walled building in Surry Hills collapsing down onto the street.

    The seven-storey complex on Randle Street caught alight just after 4pm.
