The Mumbai police on Monday arrested a businessman and actor Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra over a case involving pornographic films and publishing them through some apps.
The information was shared by Mumbai Police Commissioner while talking to news agency ANI.
“He appears to be the key conspirator. We have sufficient evidence regarding this,” Mumbai Police Commissioner told ANI, though they added that further investigations are in progress.
According to local media outlets, the case — involving the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps — was registered with the Mumbai Crime Branch in February this year.
“There was a case registered with the Crime Branch Mumbai in Feb 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr. Raj Kundra in this case on July 19 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence regarding this,” local media outlets wrote citing the Mumbai Police Commissioner said in a statement.
The incident came into the limelight when actresses Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey confessed before the Mumbai Police team that they were brought into the adult film industry by Raj Kundra, according to Zee news.
An investigation is in progress and more details are awaited, media reported citing police officers.
