BeyGOOD, a nonprofit run by a popular singer and celebrity Beyonce’ is giving $500,000 grants to 100 recipients facing foreclosures or evictions. The online application process opens January 7, 2021, where 100 recipients will be selected, and grants disbursed in late January. The announcement was updated on her website.

As per the update, each of the 100 recipients will get a $5,000 grant by the end of January. People will have to apply for its candidature with the necessary documents. The application process will start on January 7, 2021.

This comes after her foundation had helped 250 small businesses in July, which gave 20 Black-owned businesses across the US a $10,000 grant each. Phase Two of the BeyGOOD Impact Fund will now help those impacted by the housing crisis.

“The housing moratorium is set to end on December 26th”, resulting in mortgage foreclosures and rental evictions. Many families are impacted, due to the pandemic that resulted in job loss, sickness and overall economy downturn”, the foundation said in a statement on Beyoncé’s website.

BeyGOOD was launched in 2013 during the Mrs. Carter World Tour as the charity umbrella for Beyoncé’s global charity initiatives. Millions received tangible help, employment, shelter and more on tour stops in North America, Australia, Europe, South America and the Caribbean as a direct effect of BeyGOOD’s efforts during this time.
