LEWISTON, Maine – A massive manhunt is in progress following a tragic mass shooting that unfolded at a bowling alley and a restaurant in Lewiston, Maine, resulting in the loss of 18 lives and injuring 13 others. Governor Janet Mills revealed the devastating news during a press conference on Thursday.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect, identified as Robert Card, aged 40, charged with multiple counts of murder. Maine State Police Col. William Ross has emphasized that Card is to be considered “armed and dangerous.”

The incident began when Card allegedly opened fire at the Bowl-O-Rama around 9 p.m., claiming the lives of 12 individuals and wounding nine others. After this gruesome act, he fled the scene in a stolen vehicle and proceeded to the nearby Applebee’s restaurant. There, he reportedly shot and killed six more people, leaving four others injured.

The motive behind these horrific events remains under investigation. It has been disclosed that Card has a history of mental health issues and domestic violence. Disturbingly, he had recently been released from a psychiatric hospital after being involuntarily committed.

Governor Mills expressed her heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families, urging the public to cooperate with authorities in locating Card. She described this tragedy as a profound shock to the state and affirmed that every effort is being made to bring the suspect to justice and prevent further violence.

In a show of respect for the victims, Governor Mills has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Sunday.

If you have any information regarding Robert Card’s whereabouts, please contact 911 or the Maine State Police tip line at 207-624-7076. The manhunt continues, with the hope of swiftly bringing this perpetrator to justice and providing solace to the affected community.
