In a recent overnight attacks, Ukraine’s air force reported shooting down 30 cruise missiles out of 40 allegedly launched by Russian forces, along with “all Shahed drones” used in the attack. The Ukrainian air force made the announcement on Telegram, stating that a total of 27 attack drones were also destroyed during the operation. However, the fate of three Kinzhal hypersonic missiles launched by Russia remains unconfirmed by Ukrainian defense officials.

In response to the Ukrainian claims, Russia stated that its forces successfully struck military airbases in the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne regions of western Ukraine, asserting that “all targets were hit.” The Russian defense ministry reported that the strikes were carried out on Ukrainian armed forces airbases in the settlements of Starokostiantyniv and Dubno.

On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of committing a “war crime” by targeting a blood transfusion center in Kupiansk, a city situated just a few dozen kilometers away from the Russian border. According to Zelensky, the attack involved a “guided air bomb,” which resulted in a fire at the center. Russian authorities have not yet responded to the Ukrainian president’s allegations regarding the attack on the blood transfusion center.

Additionally, in separate attacks, a key factory was struck, and a Russian tanker was hit in the Kerch Strait by Kyiv’s forces. These incidents mark the latest escalation in the ongoing conflict since Russia withdrew from a grain export deal with Ukraine, impacting the region’s agricultural exports.
