In a speech about his historic arraignment Tuesday night that felt more like a campaign rally, former President Donald Trump began a six-minute list of unresolved grievances that culminated in a recent indictment over alleged silent payments.

“Even people that aren’t big fans have said this is not the right thing to do,” Trump said of the charges. “It’s an insult to our country as the world is already laughing at us for so many other reasons.”

“The Democrats spied on my campaign from the start and attacked me with a wave of fraudulent investigations,” he began a speech at his club in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.

“Russia, Russia, Russia. Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine. Impeachment for hoax No.1. Impeachment hoax 2. Illegal and unconstitutional raid on Mar-a-Lago. Lying to the FISA courts,” he continued, although he was nowhere near finished.

“The FBI and Department of Justice ruthlessly pursue Republicans. Unconstitutional changes to the electoral law without the approval of state legislatures. Millions of votes were illegally stacked in the ballot box – and all caught by government cameras. And just recently, the FBI and DOJ and collusion with Twitter and Facebook in order not to say anything bad about the Hunter Biden laptop from hell.”

Within hours of his formal arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court, Trump flew directly to Mar-a-Lago to deliver a fiery speech.

Trump, 76, is the first sitting or former president to face criminal charges. He was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury last week in a case stemming from a 2016 hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

On Tuesday, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office decided to charge former President Donald Trump with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
