Haley said, “I stand before you as the daughter of immigrants, the wife of a combat warrior, and the mother of two children. I have served as governor of South Carolina and as America’s ambassador to the United Nations. Above all, I am a proud American citizen who knows that our best days are yet to come if we unite and fight to save our country.”
Haley, a former South Carolina governor, said her parents came to the US from India in search of a better life and settled in Bamberg, South Carolina. She said, my parents, used to remind our brothers and sisters every day that America stood by us in our worst days. We are grateful for this.
Attacking US President Joe Biden, Haley said that today America is lagging behind. Joe Biden is the epitome of this failure. Now our leaders trust the government too much and the American people too little. He said the national debt is $30 trillion. This is not the America my parents came here for.
Haley formally presented her candidacy for the 2024 presidential election on Wednesday. Within the Republican Party, she will compete with former President Donald Trump. So far, Trump was the only candidate from the Republican Party to present a claim for the presidential nomination.
Haley, 51, has been the governor of South Carolina twice. She had already indicated contesting a separate election against Joe Biden. In an interview recently, she said that she did a great job as governor and ambassador.
Haley made a stern warning to Beijing in public for the first time as a White House candidate. She said that like the former Soviet Union, Communist China will also stand on the pyre of history.
