Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen Tuesday held a virtual meeting with Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Liu He on Tuesday morning.
Secretary Yellen and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He exchanged views on the economy and cooperation Tuesday morning, the U.S. Treasury Department said in a statement.
“During the conversation, they discussed macroeconomic and financial developments in the United States and China, recognizing that developments in our two economies have important implications for the global economy, “said the statement.
“Secretary Yellen also frankly raised issues of concern,” it added. But, the Treasury statement did not elaborate on the concerns.
The two sides conducted practical, candid, and constructive exchanges on macroeconomic situations and bilateral and multilateral cooperation, Chinese media reported.
The two sides also agreed to maintain communication.
