Skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan saw Pakistan through to victory against India, ending the Men In Green’s losing streak against Men In Blue in World Cups.

For most cricket-loving nations, today was the biggest cricket game of the year: India Vs Pakistan!

Babar (68) and wicket-keeper Rizwan (78) were able to complete the best partnership against India, posting the highest ever partnership for any wicket by any team against the Men In Blue in T20Is surpassing 133 by David Warner and Shane Watson.

India had a horrible start, losing three wickets in Powerplay but Virat Kohli (57) and Rishabh Pant (39) steadied India and laid the platform for a decent finish.

India had handed Pakistan a 152-run target after Babar Azam had decided to bowl first.

The two arch-rivals have met each other five times at a T20 World Cup and ‘Men in Blue’ have won on all the occasions.

Both teams come into the match with decent practice under their belt, having played two warm-up matches each. Pakistan beat West Indies by seven wickets in their first match before losing to South Africa off the last ball in the second. India, the 2007 champions, on the other hand, won both their warm-up matches, beating England and Australia.

    Brief scores:

India: 151/7 in 20 overs (Virat Kohli 57, Rishabh Pant 39; Shaheen Afridi 3/31) vs Pakistan.

Pakistan: 152 for no loss in 17.5 overs (Babar Azam 68 not out, Mohammad Rizwan 79 not out).
